Simon Smith
Head of R&D and Innovation Molson Coors Western Europe

Simon grew up and still continues to live in one of the great brewing capitals of the World, Burton on Trent in the UK. He started his brewing career in 1995 as an apprentice brewer with Carlsberg and moved to Bass and then to Coors following business acquisitions. In 2006, Simon left the brewing industry to move into operations management with PepsiCo, before returning to brewing with Molson Coors in 2010. Simon held a number of operational and technical brewing roles across the Molson Coors business before moving into R&D in 2017, becoming Head of R&D and Innovation for Molson Coors Western Europe in 2022.
Simon is an Institute of Brewing and Distilling qualified Master Brewer and also holds a MSc in Engineering Management from Brunel University. He lives with his wife Elisabeth, daughter Isabella, son William and pet Labrador Retriever dog Luna. He enjoys supporting football teams Burton Albion and Everton, spending time with his family, playing tennis, squash, golf, and walking in his spare time. His favourite beer is Worthington White Shield IPA and his greatest personal achievement is hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru.
