André Brunnsberg, chairman of EBCU – European Beer Consumers’ Union

EBCU was founded in 1990 to give voice to the beer consumer at the European level, both within and beyond the European Union. Today EBCU has member organisations in 17 different European countries representing almost 200 000 beer consumers.

André Brunnsberg has been active in the EBCU since 2009 and joined the executive committee in 2017. In autumn of 2022 he was elected chairman for the next two-year period.

Beer has been of great interest for Brunnsberg for soon 25 years. He also works as a beer journalist and is an appreciated judge in beer competitions with a wide knowledge of beer styles coming from over 20 years of home brewing. He also runs the Finnish national homebrewing competition. Living in Helsinki, Finland, Brunnsberg has a good knowledge of the Nordic alcohol monopolies and how they affect the beer consumer.
