Anders Brinch Kissmeyer

Anders Brinch Kissmeyer, born 1956 in Århus, Denmark, holds MSc’s in brewing and Chemical Engineering. After a 16 year career in Quality Management and International Brewing at Carlsberg, Anders left Carlsberg in 2001 to start work on establishing the early Danish craft brewery, Nørrebro Bryghus, heavily inspired by the US craft brewing scene. In February 2010 left NB and started his own brewing-, consulting- and communications company, Kissmeyer Beer & Brewing. In 2016 the beer brand, Kissmeyer Beer, was sold to Royal Unibrew, where Anders took up the position as Head of Craft Beer Creation, and continued his own company, now under the name ‘Anders Kissmeyer Master Brewer’.
Anders was for 13 years the Technical Editor of the Scandinavian Brewer’s Review, and he has served on the Council of the EBC, is a former ExCom and board member in the Danish Brewer’s Association, teaches at the Scandinavian School of Brewing, and judges both national and international beer competitions, incl. the World Beer Cup, GABF, EBS, IBA, AIBA, Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, IBC Japan and the Mondial de la Biére.
In August 2011 Anders was named ‘Best still active Master Brewer in the World’ after nomination by his peers in an award program organized by the Scandinavian School of Brewing and in September of 2013 Anders was named ‘Honorary Beer Sommelier’ by the British ‘The Beer Academy’, and in 2016 received the Danish Brewers’ Association’s Jubilee Award for an outstanding contribution to the industry.

’Anders Kissmeyer Master Brewer’ is my personal company, launched in 2010 as ‘Kissmeyer Beer & Brewing’, after I ended my 10 year carrier with Nørrebro Bryghus. The company now spans over two out of the original three main areas of business, after the sale in 2016 of the beer brand ’Kissmeyer Beer’ to Royal Unibrew: A consultancy business offering services related mainly to the brewing industry, and ‘AKMB Communications’ offering a wide range of communication services incl. beer tastings and presentations.
