Ulrich, Laura

Laura Ulrich is a part of Stone Brewing’s Small Batch Brewing Team, where she is responsible for creating specialty beers, brewing pilot batches, and the research and development of raw materials. On the Small Batch Team, Ulrich’s attention to detail and emphasis on quality makes her the go-to when precision matters most.
At Stone Brewing, Ulrich has worked her way up from the bottling line to become Stone’s first female brewer. She co-founded the employee resource group “Women of Stone Network” in 2019 to bring attention and awareness to issues that face women in brewing and to develop resources and opportunities to further the success and accomplishments of women.
Ulrich played a significant role in helping Teri Fahrendorf launch Pink Boots Society in 2007. This non-profit organization provides scholarship opportunities to women working in the beer industry. In 2016, Ulrich was chosen by Teri to lead and serve the organization as President and did so until 2020. She’s traveled to several countries speaking about Pink Boots Society or brewing a beer with other female trailblazers like Winnie Hsu Juo Wei of Taihu Brewing.
Having worked in the brewing industry for almost 20 years, Ulrich’s entry into professional brewing was with Odell Brewing Company in Fort Collins, Colo., where she balanced multiple roles. Laura has a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Lindenwood University Saint Charles, Mo., and is a Cicerone® Certified Beer Server and a Great American Beer Festival (GABF) Judge. At her leisure, you may catch Ulrich enjoying a glass of Stone IPA while watching football, soccer or any sporting event to be honest, and hanging with her two black cats.
