Nicole Groot Zevert is project manager at VISITFLANDERS, the tourism board of the Flemish Government (Belgium). For the past years she specialized in the field of culinary tourism and, more specifically, beer tourism. She is currently working on the development and promotion of beer experiences in Flanders. Prior to joining VISITFLANDERS in 2019, Nicole has gained experienced in the global tourism sector working as a consultant at the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the United Nations agency responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism, and at the European Travel Commission, an intergovernmental tourism organization that unites the National Tourism Organisations (NTOs) of Europe. Her focus has been on strengthening the sustainable development of tourism destinations and has extensive international experience. Nicole holds a bachelor’s degree from the Saxion Hospitality Business School and a master’s degree in Tourism from the K.U. Leuven.
